A ripping yarn

Very enjoyable read, for adults, teenagers and children. Very interesting and realistic descriptions about being in the seventeen century and the characters felt very real, even the dog. It was very moving in places, humorous and exciting. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Great for the imagination

This is a great book for children as it is so imaginative, hugely entertaining and with excellent use of history that they will know. I liked the main characters and would have liked to know more of their back story – perhaps another book? A very enjoyable read.

Most importantly my kids loved it too. We sincerely hope Scarsdale and Mr Growler, aren’t around in 2020 but went back to where they belong. We loved the characters and were sad to finish it. We also liked the history, adventure and the silly comedy moments. We want to know what happens next. Is there a sequel coming???
